Warlock – A Class For Everyone To Fear

Playing a Warlock can bring you loads of fun. This class belongs to the dark side and therefore their spells are based on the shadow magic and fire magic.  They possess the powers of ‘the dark’ and therefore they are interested in demonology. With demonology they can summon powerful demons, for example imps, fel hounds, succubus, infernals and void walkers. Locks are one of the two classes that can use pets and similar to the Hunter class, Locks too can have a pet by their side at most of the times if their build allows them.

Having a pet at your side makes the game a lot easier especially because you can usually avoid taking many hits. When it comes to their offensive abilities, Warlocks are damage dealers and their main spells, like shadow bolts, can cause a lot of damage. Another ability that contributed to the overall popularity of Locks is “fear”, which is can make their opponents run around for a few seconds without the ability to do anything about it. This powerful class is also popular because of their “damage over time” – DoTs spells which also contribute to the overall damage output of a Lock. Because of this spell combo, a Warlock who plays his class well is a dangerous opponent in PvP and is a top damage dealer in any PvE instance or raid group. In PvP a Warlock can fear his opponents while applying dots on his target an in PvE he can spam Shadow Bolts and other great spells.

Apart from damage dealing spell, Locks have many other useful skills. The most popular one is definitely the ability create a summoning portal – the Dark Portal. This portal is frequently used in raids, and with this ability a Lock can summon players from afar to his current location. He will need a hand to summon a player. The Dark Portal can basically be used similar to the meeting stones that can be found in front of instances.

A Warlock can also apply a Soul Stone on himself or others. If he or any other player has a Soul Stone applied he will be able to resurrect if he dies, right on the spot. This spell comes very useful because it saves time of corps running and it has a cooldown of 30 minutes. While leveling it is great because the Warlock can keep it on himself all the time and if he is in a party the Soul Stone can be cast on a player that can resurrect others. Warlocks are also known for their ability to produce Health Stones which are used similar as the healing potions but they restore even more health. On lower levels, a Lock is able to give these Health Stones separately to other players while on a higher level he can even create a special well – the Soul Well where his whole raid group can obtain a HS just by clicking on it. During longer fights, a HS is really useful since its cooldown isn’t connected to the cooldown of the health potions, and basically, during the same fight one can use both.

Warlocks are a very fun and interesting class to play. With their damage dealing abilities, demon pets, fears, DoTs and spells which are helpful to the group, they are surely complex characters to play and tuff enemies to fight against. If you prefer to play caster classes and would like to level up fast, this class would be perfect for you!
